How can I obtain a copy of my title deed in San Francisco?
Copies of deeds and title are located at the Assessor-Recorder’s Office. You can obtain a copy of your at the Assessor-Recorder’s office located at City Hall – Room 405, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94102. You can also mail a written request along with payment (Recording Fees) which will depend on the number of document pages.
If you do not know the document number of your title deed, you can search for it at the Assessor’s Office by Block and Lot Number. You can search for your Block and Lot number online by typing in your address.
If you do not know the number of pages in the document, you may send a check with the instruction of “Not to exceed $____.” You must also include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request.
