How can I register my business name with the city of San Francisco?
In order to register your business name, you need to file a Fictitious Business Name, also know as Doing Business As (DBA). As a business owner, you are required to file your business name with the San Francisco Office of the County Clerk prior to 40 days after opening your doors to conduct business. You will also want to check to make sure you are not sharing names with another business in the city.
