How do I get a residential parking permit for my guests in San Francisco?
Residents in San Francisco with a current residential parking permit can purchase a temporary parking permit for visitors or guests. Existing residential parking permit holders must complete an application and payment. Visitor permits can be issued for 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks.
If you do not currently have a residential parking permit you can still get a residential parking permit for your guests. You must first fill out the application, along with payment, and one proof of residency such as a utility bill, or current rental document. Vehicles over 6,000 pounds are not eligible for a residential permit.
