How do I register a vacant building in San Francisco as now being occupied?
If you recently acquired a vacant building in San Francisco and it is now being occupied, you must notify the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection.
You need to provide proof of occupancy in order for San Francisco Department of Building Inspection to deregister your property from the vacant or abandoned list.
You can prove occupancy by submitting at least two of the following documents:
- A copy of most recent PG&E or utilities statement showing property address
- A copy of most recent Recology or garbage statement showing property address
- A copy of most recent PUC or water statement showing property address
