How long does it take to get copies of a birth certificate in San Francisco?
Generally, the Office of Vital Records mails out copies of birth certificates a week after receiving a properly completed request. However, certain requests can take up to 60 days from the date the request was received.
If you need records sooner than a week, you can request to expedite your mailed copy. If you choose to expedite your order the Office of Vital Records will process your order within 2 business days from the date of receipt.
For additional general information you can contact the office of Vital Records at 415-554-2700.
