How long should I wait after my baby is born to request a birth certificate from San Francisco?
The Office of Vital Records requests that requests for birth certificates are made no later than 6 week’s after the baby’s birth.
It is important to note this 6 week deadline includes the 10 calendar days it takes hospitals to send necessary records to the Office of Vital Records for registration. For additional general information you can contact the office of Vital Records at 415-554-2700.
