If my landlord doesn’t make repairs to my apartment, can I withhold rent?
According to the San Francisco Rent Board, the San Francisco Rent Ordinance does not allow a tenant to withhold rent when a landlord fails to make repairs.
According to the San Francisco Rent Board, tenants should seek the advice of an attorney before withholding rent because of needed repairs. Withhold of rent may result in eviction proceedings by the landlord for non-payment of rent.
