What do I do if I see a homeless person sleeping on public property?
According to the San Francisco Customer Service Center, people can appear to be sleeping for sleeping for numerous reasons including medical issues. You should never approach or attempt to move a homeless person who you believe to be sleeping.
To report a homeless person who appears to be sleeping but does not seem to have a serious medical problem call the non-emergency San Francisco police number at 415-553-0123.
If the homeless person appears to have a serious medical issue you should call 911.
