What is a private or confidential marriage in San Francisco?
A confidential marriage license in San Francisco requires both partners to be living together prior to applying for the license. The ceremony MUST take place in the county of San Francisco. Witnesses are not required to be present during the marriage ceremony and the marriage record is only made available to the married couple.
