The Integrated Pest Management Policy in San Francisco was established to encourage the safe use of pesticides in our city, since the city of San Francisco has taken the position that pesticides are potentially hazardous to human and environmental health. The ordinance works to reduce our harmful use of pesticides by monitoring pest ecosystems to determine threat levels, implementing plans to control each pest ecosystem, considering a range of solutions to a pest problem and leading ongoing educational programs for the city and those who work with pests.

You can learn more about San Francisco’s pesticide use by reading the SF Environment Integrated Pest Management Ordinance fact sheet.
