When can I vote by provisional ballot in San Francisco?

If you are a registered voter in San Francisco, you have the right to cast a provisional ballot at your polling place if:

You were issued an vote-by-mail ballot that you are unable to give-up, and you want to vote at your San Francisco polling place.
Your name does not appear in the official roster of registered voters for the precinct, and your voting eligibility cannot be verified by the pollworker.
You have moved within San Francisco but did not re-register to vote.
You wish to vote a party ballot for a party that is different from your registration
You are a first-time voter listed as "ID Required" at the polling place and did not bring your ID.

To find out if your provisional ballot was counted in San Francisco, you can search online. You will need to enter your Provisional Voter Receipt number (6 digits) located on your provisional ballot and your date of birth.
