Who writes the city budget for San Francisco?
Each year, the Mayor's Budget Office presents a balanced budget to the Board of Supervisors for consideration. Next, the budget committee of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is responsible for reviewing, amending and approving the mayor's proposed budget. The budget committee holds meetings and hears the public opinion on the budget. The Board of Supervisors is set to adopt a final budget for San Francisco by the end of July.
